In the world of fashion merchandizing, it is important to consider the type of audience which the products are seeking. Far East Plaza is a mall in the outskirts of Orchard which attracts the younger generation shoppers. This particular store offers a range of modern chic products including clothes, footwear and accessories. In order to bring out the essence of the products on display, the colours and textures are essential in achieving this.
The flooring is divided into three separate areas; a cement screed flooring welcomes the shoppers stretching all the way to the counter, a red carpet flooring leads the shoppers to the main display area for clothes and a timber parquet flooring distinguishes the fitting rooms from the rest of the areas. The display cases are mainly lined in a black floral laminate and using a bright chili red as an accent to match the carpet flooring. The main challenge was the ceiling which was retained mainly due to constrains in the budget available, the new light fittings were strategically placed to create the overall cozy feeling.
